Opting for a Zoning System Drives Home Comfort UpWhile you may have thought programmable thermostats were the height of home comfort, just wait until you install a new zoning system. This system accomplishes two goals: home comfort at every (literal) level and energy conservation. Here’s how:

  • Zone-specific comfort – A zoned system is to heating and cooling what light switches are to interior lighting. It makes sure the only rooms benefiting from your heating and cooling system are the ones you’re spending time in. Are your upstairs bedrooms consistently hotter than the downstairs living space? Do you have to freeze out one area of the house in order to sufficiently cool another? Do you and your spouse like to have your rooms cooler than your children? If you answered yes to any of those questions, your overall home comfort will improve with the addition of a zoning system.
  • Energy efficiency – Any time you have to overcompensate in one area of your house to be comfortable in another, you’re wasting energy. Likewise, if an unused portion of your home is being heated or cooled, your utility bills will be unnecessarily high. A zoning system increases your home’s energy efficiency by allowing you to control exactly where your energy’s going, or not going, to keep energy consumption and expenses to a minimum.

Varied internal climate control for our varied Arizona climate

Our Arizona climate is unique. Although we do experience the stereotypical hot summer days which we’re known for, a desert night in winter can be exceptionally chilly. Arizona may be one of the only regions where homeowners use their air conditioners by day and their heaters by night on a regular basis. This is why zoned heating and cooling systems are so important.

When you opt for a zoning system, an HVAC professional will install multiple thermostats at choice locations. The thermostats are all electrically wired to a single control panel, which controls multiple dampers in your forced air heating and cooling system that keep each zone independently controlled.

Please contact Wolff Mechanical for more information about installing a zoning system in your home. We proudly serve homeowners throughout the Phoenix and Scottsdale areas.

Our goal is to help educate our customers in the Phoenix Valley area of Arizona about energy and home comfort issues (specific to HVAC systems).
